COMMUNITY. INSPIRATION. EDUCATION. ENTERTAINMENT.
Cain Center is intentional about its impact on the community. Our core values guide us in the important role of creating experiences and connections throughout the Lake Norman Region. We build our programs so that they are accessible to everyone and in that way we strengthen the arts community and uphold our values each and every day.
Once a request has been submitted, it will take 2-4 weeks to hear back with a decision. If a request has been accepted in this time frame, the Visual Arts and Education Director will reach out to go over next steps.
If a request has been denied, Cain Center for the Arts invites you to reapply in the following calendar year.
Applicants may only apply for a one time only project based program. Annual partnerships with the organization as a whole are currently filled.
ARTS & SCHOOLS
Since 2019, Cain Center has presented annual arts education programs for local Lake Norman schools (K-12) to educate, entertain, and inspire the community of Lake Norman. These programs will send organizations like the Children’s Theater or the Charlotte Symphony to schools to teach kids about the importance and influence of the arts, or invite students to the Cain Center for the Arts for a special daytime school performance.
ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY
Cain Center believes that it is important for the arts to reach everyone in the community regardless of the barriers that may be present. We host and partner with local nonprofits to align our arts programming with the community.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Cain Center knows that education and community are incredibly important, so we have created scholarship opportunities to ensure access. There are scholarships for all ages for classes and summer camps.
COMMUNITY MUSIC LESSON PROGRAM
The Community Music Program began in 2020 and offers local students ages 7-18 an opportunity for a nine-month program full of music lessons at no cost. The lessons are in voice, guitar, piano and drums; at the end of the program, the student is awarded a free instrument based on the types of lessons they have received.
